Activity Description

Combine cycling, sailing and exploration on an eight-day cruise from Corfu to Athens, departing on 22 May 2027. Stay aboard Running on Waves with full-board dining and discover the Ionian Islands and the Peloponnese through scenic rides, historic destinations and time to unwind by the sea.

This Corfu to Athens bike and sail cruise brings together active exploration and life aboard a sailing ship. From 22 to 29 May 2027, Running on Waves becomes your base for eight days and seven nights of cycling, sailing and watersports along the Ionian Islands and the Peloponnese.

The route takes you through Kefalonia, Zakynthos, Katakolo, Pylos, Gytheio and Nafplion, connecting green island landscapes with the western and southern shores of mainland Greece. Cycling routes pass through olive groves, karst valleys, mountain scenery and coastal roads. Destinations featured in the programme include Melissani Cave, Ancient Olympia, Polylimnio Waterfalls, Voidokilia Beach, the Diros Caves and Ancient Mycenae.

Between excursions, relax on the open decks or in the Jacuzzi, or make use of the available kayaks, windsurf boards and snorkelling equipment. The programme also offers opportunities to swim from the ship, use the waterslide and join a step-by-step mast-climbing session. A visit to Zakynthos’ Blue Caves by separate boat adds another perspective to the coastal scenery.

Further options include visiting a private vintage-car collection and tasting Kefalonia’s Robola wine. On selected stages, a bus alternative is available for those who prefer to take a break from cycling. The inclusion and any additional cost of these options depend on the detailed package booked.

With cabin accommodation, full-board dining and opportunities to explore towns independently, this journey suits active travellers who enjoy combining outdoor experiences with cultural discovery and time aboard a sailing ship.
